It appears RC1 (.NET 10.0.0-rc.1.25451.107) over-installs atop Preview 7 and does indeed run under VS2022 17.14.13 Preview 1.0 as expected. |

But now there's an issue: dotnet/sdk#50748 I suppose this means you can use .NET SDK 10.0.1xx with Visual Studio 2022 to target .NET 9 or earlier, but if you want to target .NET 10, then that is only supported with Visual Studio 2026 -- even if it may work with 2022 as well. |

The sentence you quoted only talks about the SDK. So the SDK 10.0.1xx might not require VS 2026, but you still won't be able to target .NET 10 with VS 2022. Take a look at the table and "note" box below the sentence you quoted. It clearly shows this for .NET 8 and 9 too. @TETYYS Please update your wrong comments above. With dotnet/sdk#50748 we now have official confirmation that targeting .NET 10 will require VS 2026. |

Have looked at VS 2026 Insider - judging by the graphics, especially the fonts (currently unusable), there's no way this is going to be ready for 11th November. |

But according to pull requests mentioned above MS team plans that targeting .NET 10 will require VS 2026. Still waiting for a clear answer from @jamesmontemagno or @marcpopMSFT. |

it is a desaster. No answer from Microsoft to a simple question. How should we update our apps to a go live .net 10 version if the only supported VS is in an early preview state that is not really allowed for production code:

@MagicAndre1981 According to this answer "targeting net10 will require VS 2026". Looks like MS team plans to take VS 2026 through several previews and couple of RCs during less than 2 months and release it at 11th November. Or maybe I'm missing something. I asked for a clear clarification there. |

@madhon Rider requires separate paid license, VS Code+C# Dev Kit lacks many Visual Studio 2022 features (WPF design view with drag-n-drop, UI for editing .resx files, profiler etc.) |

What is supported way to target .NET 10 RC1 in a production code? According to .NET 10 RC1 download page and this answer "targeting net10 will require VS 2026". .NET 10 RC1 has a go-live support license but VS 2026 Preview1 is not allowed for production code:
Same question for upcoming .NET 10 RC2 and .NET 10 REL. |
