Organization not appearing in owner dropdown

Hello! I'm attempting to connect a repo from my team's organization, but am unable to see the organization as an option in the owner dropdown. I'm using the latest v1.2.0, and GitFig access to the org has been approved. I've tried logging out/in again, restarting Figma.

Any ideas why this could be happening? Thank you!

Hi! Thanks for reporting this, following up on it, and your patience while getting a proper solution in place, @a-legge @mvoshell652 !

You helped in tracking down the root cause.

This should now be fixed in v1.2.1, which is now available on the Figma Community.

There were actually three issues at play:

1. GitFig wasn't requesting the read:org permission from GitHub, so the organization list came back empty even when you'd approved access
2. The org fetch only ran when you switched to the "Create New" tab, not on the default "Connect Existing" tab
3. If the fetch did fail, there was no error message — it just silently showed nothing

To get the fix working on your end:

1. Update the plugin - Make sure you're on v1.2.1 (you should see the version in the bottom-left corner of the plugin)
2. Sign out and sign back in - This is required because your existing token doesn't include the new read:org permission. Open GitFig, click the user menu in the top-right, and hit Sign Out. Then sign back in through the normal GitHub flow.
3. Approve for your org - During the GitHub authorization step, make sure your organization is checked/approved. If you've already approved GitFig for the org previously, it should carry over automatically.

After that, your organization should appear in the owner dropdown on both the "Connect Existing" and "Create New" tabs.
