Dependency on Plots

I noticed your package has a dependency on Plots.jl. This is a pretty heavy dependency to carry around. Perhaps it would make sense to use PlotRecipes instead, so you can remove the dependency on Plots?

Hi @PieterjanRobbe thank you for the useful comments. I am actually intrigued about your suggestion to redude the package's dependencies. Nonetheless, I am not familiar with the alternative that you suggest. I tried googling PlotRecipes but could not find any useful information. Is there some documentation or example that you can point me to so that I can try and reduce the Plots dependency?

Hi @everval, sorry I meant use RecipesBase instead of Plots.

I don't recommend going from Plots to RecipeBase. Plots is superseded by Makie, which is also heavy in dependencies. At some point, there will be a lightweight interface for Makie. You could wait until then and then switch to Makie if you want to.
However, for the JOSS Paper, it is fine anyway, imo.
