Appraisal won't fill in the ATK DEF or STA automatically

It detects when I hit "appraise" because the appraisal section of GoIV gets the blue square around it but once I tap again and am on the appraisal screen, none of the boxes get checked.

I have tried this on two separate devices (XZ2 and Pixel 1) with the same result on a large sampling of newer and older pokemon, trash and legendaries. Not once did it detect the IVs automatically.

I wasn't going to report this at first because I figured it must be a manual stopgap for now but then I realized the behaviour must be supposed to be automatic, due to the blue square showing up when I try to appraise.

Edit: detailed steps to reproduce:

1. Open GoIV
2. hit start
3. open up a pokemon (eg machop as example)
4. gives me IV range (49-56% eg machop)
5. tap GoIV machop button
6. tap 3-lines menu icon
7. tap appraise
8. observe GoIV has highlighted the stats in a blue square
9. tap to continue to appraisal screen
10. observe GoIV does not read the appraisal screen and maintains the blue-square "ready" state with unchecked boxes and 0-0-0 IV.

I additionally tried entirely reinstalling GoIV on both devices.

I was surprised when I ran into this as well, I updated twice yesterday. The 1st update looked pretty unpolished, so I was not surprised when it didn't automatically detect the IVs. However, the 2nd update I got was the one you described above and I totally expected it to detect automatically.

I can confirm I have the exact same problem on my OnePlus 6T

The current implementation doesn't support all phones as the proportions are not always the same (and when I implemented it, it appeared to be the same). On my appraisal-improvement branch I'm working on improving that situation.
