Experiment: Running under Wine (Linux Mint) #47

Description

@Bluescreen92jrd

I don't know what the policy is for commentary on this project, so I thought I would post my thoughts about using the Animal Crossing Windows app in Wine.

Launching the application

In my particular experience, simply double-clicking the application's EXE file will just pop up the window for a split second before closing it automatically. The workaround is to open up your bash terminal to the folder in which the game files are stored and launch the application from there: wine AnimalCrossing.exe

What I see working

Inability to run the app directly (at least on Linux) notwithstanding, the game launches and runs. Controllers work (regardless of platform, use Xbox controller for best results), sound and 3D graphics work.

I'm gonna play a bit and come back with my findings. Feel free to comment.
