Reenabling nm where previously held back along with cloud init

Re the following from 14.11
Improvements
Plugin disables argument cloudinit now only disables cloudinit. No need to touch NM on Trixie as of RasPiOS 2025-11-24

I’ve kept noticing how nm was held back from updating and want to know how to reenable it. Is that possible without re-burning against the newest images?
Will anything in the previous / existing connection files be a problem with a newer nm?

I just tried this today on a couple of systems:

sudo apt-mark unhold network-manager libnm0
sudo apt upgrade --yes
sudo reboot

.nmconnection files were still where I wanted them to be. Perfection!
