Failed to authenticate - Spotify not working

LibreElec 12.0.2, Spotify add-on 1.3.14

Spotify was working fine the last few months.
This morning I got: "LAN to authenticate this plugin...." message. So I did the "Kodi-Spotty" thing on my other device. But unfortunately I did not get the success message. I got:

"Failed to authenticate. Could not find the credentials file: "<ADDON_DATA_DIR>/spotty-cache/credentials.json"."

I repeated the process 2-3 times with no success. LibreElec-Backup also did not make any change.

My LibreElec Backup shows a "credentials.json" file with some content inside, but after doing the authentication thing with error again, the credentials.json file was gone.

In this state Spotify cannot be used.

In your official Spotify app on another device did you see the 'Kodi-Spotty' device under the 'Connect to device' option as per the README?

I have the same issue. Yes the Kodi-Spotty device is in the Spotify App, but the auth proccess runs into an error.

For me, I only saw it on the device that Kodi was running on (in this case my laptop). All of my other devices including the Spotify app on my phone did not show Kodi-Spotty under “Connect to device” even though they are all connected to the same network. Though it used to before this issue happened.

In my case credentials.json will be created and inside the file are the username and the auth_data. The spotty-token file: {"error":"Failed to get access token."} I'm on Windows 10. For athentication i use the current Spotify Windows App on same Laptop. Until last week it was working well. The Kodi log shows: https://pastebin.com/raw/MGbPEDdy

I'm surprised no one else has these problems. Could it be country-specific? I'm from Germany and i have a german Spotify Individual Premium Account.

It's working now for me.
Using the Spotify App on Windows for Authentication i got the described error. Maybe something is wrong with the current version.
I tryed the Authentication with the Spotify Android Smartphone App and yeah, it's working now.

Good morning. I can confirm it is working now.
After installation of v1.3.14 I had to try authentication with other device three times! There was no error message but also no success message. After another try it worked.

I don´t know why, but for now Spotify works :-)

Still doesn't work for me (UK), this time on linux spotify app. Works fine via an Android kodi app. Have, as expected "The spotify login failed...Connect to a device...Press OK here when you have done that". The Kodi-Spotty appears as a connect device in a validated player on the network. I can select that. I can play a track to that device. It says "Playing on Kodi-Spotty". Then I close that device (or not) and hit "OK". I press okay, and I get "Spotify Error, see log for details". It has filled in the credentials.json in .kodi/userdata/addon_data/plugin.audio.spotify/spotty-cache with the correct username (no idea about the auth). However spotty-token in the same dir just has {"error":"Failed to create session or connect to servers."}. This is a vanilla new-install osmc device. Reboot tried. There are no firewalling issues at the network level that prevent spotify connections.
