Can't update node-red-contrib-knx-ultimate in Home Assistant Community Add-on from 4.1.15 -> 4.1.23

Hello,

i've installed the latest Node Red Addon 21.0.0 for HA 2026.2.1
After i tried to update the node-red-contrib-knx-ultimate plugin, i've recieved this error message.

The problem is caused by the node.js version being updated to v24.13.0 in the 21.0.0 add-on release. The mentioned package requires main version 18, 20 or 22. I encountered the same problem with a lot of extra packages during update or node-red start up (EBADENGINE warning). I reverted to the previous node-red app for now. I am not sure, if the node.js update to v24 was intended or if it just happened because v24 has entered LTS state not so long ago.

yes, that's what i also thought.
I am using HA, and not really know how to downgrade to the earlier release. So it v24 is now in lts state, i hope the other packages are getting updates for v24. I will stay in 21.0.0, also stay on 4.1.15 untill it will be fixed.

i tried updating everything as well, but the problem remains unresolved. The issue now affects three nodes.

For what it’s worth, the Node-RED Plus app still uses Node.js version 22 as that is what is currently recommended. You could try using it with node-red-contrib-knx-ultimate and other modules that do not yet support Node.js version 24.

This issue is resolved in newer versions of the package. node-red-contrib-knx-ultimate@4.3.1 no longer depends on @homebridge/ciao and its engine requirement (>=20.18.1) is fully compatible with Node.js 24.

Please update node-red-contrib-knx-ultimate to the latest version via the Node-RED palette manager. Note that third-party nodes are not supported by this project. For further issues with this package, please reach out to its maintainer directly.
