I encounter the problem in pip "requirements-unit1.txt", but the stack trace is not same as you. Here is my problem stack:

I found that the

stable-baselines3==2.0.0a5(line 1)

in https://raw.githubusercontent.com/huggingface/deep-rl-class/main/notebooks/unit1/requirements-unit1.txt conflict the pygame needed by gymnasium[box2d](line 3), so i just remove the required version of stable-baselines3 and try pip again in terminal of colab, everything work fine.

Thanks for your reply. I tried the method you provided,but it couldn't slove my problem.

My colab is set to use Python3.12 by default .By using the following code ,modify it to Python3.10
, the problem has been resolved

!sudo apt-get install python3.10 python3.10-dev python3.10-distutils -y
!sudo update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/python3 python3 /usr/bin/python3.10 1
!sudo update-alternatives --config python3

you can also set your colab version to 2025.07 instead of latest, this will then work out of the box.

You can install the requirements using this command instead ( stable-baselines3==2.0.0a5 is not compatible with pygame package for python version>3.10)

!pip install stable-baselines3 swig gymnasium[box2d] huggingface_sb3

I was encountering the same problem, I solved it by installing the following packages:

!pip install pygame gymnasium[box2d] stable-baselines3[extra] huggingface_sb3 moviepy --quiet

!pip uninstall numpy 
!pip install "numpy<2.0"

you can also set your colab version to 2025.07 instead of latest, this will then work out of the box.
