For resource nodes:

• a checkbox for whether you've explored the resource or not
• probably some styling to be done too (changing the node metadata) e.g. graying it out

For topic nodes:

• gray out a topic node when all resource nodes have been explored
• list of dependencies when you click on a topic node should all be check boxes too. except for other topics
