Incorrect handling of fs error EAGAIN

Hello,
Filesystem operation can return EAGAIN to tell the applicaiton to try again later.
I just found out that this library is not correctly handling the EAGAIN error that filesystem calls can throw.

In pnpm this needs now to be handled like this: pnpm/pnpm#9959
