What is the timeline for Gradle 9 support?

Current behavior

When running with a Gradle 9 wrapper, configurations need to be resolved exclusively which leads to the following error:

> Resolution of the configuration '...' was attempted without an exclusive lock. This is unsafe and not allowed.

I found what causes the problem:

org.gradle.parallel=true

In order to work with Gradle 9 and within a project that has parallel execution enabled, the parallel execution needs to be disabled for the dependency tree generation. Therfore the CLI needs to append --no-parallel to the Gradle command it generates.

In the meantime, as a workaround, the property can be injected (and overwritten) as follows by setting (or extending) the GRADLE_OPTS environment variable: GRADLE_OPTS=-Dorg.gradle.parallel=false.
