[FEAT] Feature Suggestions for QuickView v5 #129

First of all, thank you for your work on QuickView. It’s an impressively fast and lightweight image viewer, and it’s clear a lot of care has gone into its performance and usability. I really enjoy using it, especially for quickly browsing large sets of images.

I wanted to share a few observations and suggestions that might help improve the experience even further.

1. Image Dimming When Opening Menus

When opening the QuickView v5 context menu (right-click) over an image, the image becomes dimmed. This makes it difficult to visually compare changes when applying different effects like color space.

Instead of seeing a clear “before vs. after,” there’s an intermediate dimmed state that interrupts visual continuity. This creates a small but noticeable gap in perception when trying to evaluate adjustments.

A similar issue occurs in the HUD Gallery: when navigating between images, the main image’s illumination is reduced. For workflows like comparing multiple photos, this forces the eyes to constantly readjust, making side-by-side or rapid comparisons less effective.

Suggestion: Keep image brightness consistent while menus or overlays are open, so users can make accurate visual comparisons without distraction.

2. Menu Brightness (Light vs. Dark UI)

The current context menu appears very bright (pure white). When working with images — especially photos — this can be visually distracting and can affect how colors and contrast are perceived.

Suggestion: Introduce a dark mode (or adaptive UI) for menus. A darker interface would reduce eye strain and help users maintain accurate perception of image colors and tones.
