Adding PHP plugins such as bc-math to already installed MNPP?

[BC-Math](http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.bc.php), which has math functionality, is one of a number of PHP plugins. It appears to not be installed in MNPP's version of PHP. 

How can people install PHP plugin's such as this to a version of MNPP that is already running?
