Since this project doesn't seem to be very active anymore, maybe it makes sense to look for additional maintainers in the community?

I'd be super happy if anyone wants to maintain this. It definitely needs to be updated for the new node at the very least.

I'm available to maintain the repo. I'll try to update to new node version and try to work on the issues.
