Description

Instead of the current drag-and-drop system for arranging panels around the map, simplify the UX with a "+" button (e.g., floating in the corner or in the toolbar). Clicking it would open a menu/modal listing all available info boxes — news feeds, conflict tracker, weather, markets, military activity, etc. — and the user can toggle which ones they want visible. Selected panels would auto-arrange around the map in a clean grid or sidebar layout.
This could work like a widget picker: click "+", browse categories (Intelligence, Infrastructure, Economic, etc.), check the ones you want, and they appear. Removing a panel could be as simple as clicking an "×" on the panel itself.

Problem it solves

The current drag-and-drop layout can feel clunky, especially for new users or on smaller screens. Dragging panels to rearrange them requires precision and isn't intuitive for a tool where users mostly care about which information is visible, not where it's physically positioned on screen. A "+" button approach lowers the learning curve, makes panel management faster, and keeps the focus on the map — which is the core of the product. It also scales better for mobile/tablet where drag-and-drop is less reliable.
