A technical question, I tried gk3 on 86box but I noticed that there is a kind of green tint (I remember that there was also with my old matrox g400) and the gray seems duller but can the green tint be restored?

Hi, sorry for the delay in getting back to you! It looks like you're playing the Italian version of the game, and the game is unable to load the localization data.

To fix this, I think you may need to open GK3.ini and update it to contain this:

[Localization]
//Language (E:English, F:French...). If no value, English is assumed.
Locale = I

I hope that can fix the issue for you.

But also, this gives me an idea to add better logic for auto-detecting localizations. It shouldn't be necessary to modify the ini file to play in a different language. I'll keep this ticket open to track that. Will try to test on the Italian version of the game if I can get ahold of it.

(As for the question about graphics and the green tint - I'm not really sure to be honest. I'd need to investigate this more. I do know that the game ships with a file called HARDWARE.CFG that contains different default graphical settings for certain graphics cards, including Voodoo 3. Possibly this could account for different appearances when running on different cards?)

Hi... I had already manually modified the configuration file... it doesn't work... for the green tint

ddrawcompat 0.71 (green tint barely visible)

dgvoodoo 2.86.5 (green tint very visible)

with ddrawcompat the green tint is not very visible (the gamma is NOT available), but with dgv2 the game has the correct green tint (the gamma is at max), technically dithering should also be enabled (only with dgv2 is it possible to do this)

if you can get it to run... i can test the game with your engine
