If working on one, I would think there should be something to completely disable it for someone on nix home-manager to avoid confusion, and have a situation like Hyprpanel.

I think the documentation should be expanded first, more examples added, ... An overview of the default keybindings or a thoroughly documented configuration file would also be helpful. I'm familiar with mmsg, but it's easy to overlook that. I've only been using mangowc for a few hours, but i've been using Tiling Window Manager for over 20 years, and what can i say... mangowc just feels the best to me.
