Is it possible to add the "Double clicking an empty slot" sorting feature as server-side feature?

Interesting, if I remember correctly one of the main reasons I removed that was that it didn't actually work in my testing, specifically when using it on a server. 🤔 That was still in 1.21.

So you're saying that with paulzzh's 1.21 version, you could sort by double clicking an empty slot while only having the mod on the server?

Huh, now I wonder if the reason that those two "click an empty slot" sorting methods never worked properly when I used the old mod and when I looked more thoroughly into it for the fork is because I always had the mod client-side as well. I did a bit of testing and have a version where double-clicking an empty slot works when using it only server-side – but it seems to cause a few issues when also having it client-side. I'll need to dig a bit deeper to see if I can make that combination work. If yes, I'm happy to add it back in "officially". :)

For now, you can try my test version if you'd like: KeepInventorySortedSimple-test.zip – it doesn't have any setting/config for the double-click feature, it is just enabled by default. (Obvious disclaimer to proceed at your own risk – no guarantee it doesn't duplicate or delete your inventory… but that said, the code change is very minimal and obvious, I would personally not be worried using this on my server more than I am with the stable version on Modrinth.)

Cool, glad to hear it! I saw that the original also got a 1.21.4 update tonight, so at least for this version you now have all the options available. 🙂

I'll probably continue maintaining this for myself despite the OG update. I wouldn't want to miss shulker boxes being sorted based on their content for example, and I like having full control over the sorting algorithm myself in general. Won't get to it this weekend, but I'll still see what I can do to make the double click functionality play well in all scenarios.
