Permission to Use Code in Public Project

Hi maxpetul,

I've been a fan of the C3X mod for a while now, and have been avidly playing Civ 3 for the last 25 years (got really into the multiplayer community during COVID).

I used your code for a personal project, to add random shuffling of Victory Point locations to the game for scenarios with Victory Point scoring enabled. This was primarily to augment the capability of current multiplayer scenario modders to create fun and interesting new game modes for the multiplayer scene.

However, I noticed your repo has no license, which means by "default" that it's All Rights Reserved. I wanted to ask permission to have my extension of your work displayed and available for the community to use and download as desired, with credits going to you and the team for doing so much legwork to figure out the code injection schema. If you're not okay with my repo being public, I'm happy to take it down.

Hello. You're welcome to use C3X as a basis for your own mod and to distribute it publicly. I only ask that you credit me and my fellow contributors and that you link to the mod page, and I see you've already done that, so thank you for that.

I suppose I should assign a license to this repo. One reason I haven't done that is that it's based on Antal1987's work which he never put a license on. He hasn't been active on GitHub or CivFanatics for many years now so we probably can't contact him to ask.

By the way, if you want to merge your victory point randomization feature into mainline C3X, I'd be happy to include it. Just open a PR for that. I see you've created a version of the default config that turns everything off. I know C3X doesn't work well with online multiplayer, that's something I've been wanting to address for years now but have never gotten around to. Did you try making sure that all players in a game have the same config? That should help with desyncs. I've tried to disable the features that require synchronization while in online MP, like stack unit commands, but may not have gotten them all. Ideally what I'd like to do is make all the mod features work in online games then have the game synchronize the configs for all players in an online game, i.e. have all players copy the host's config. But that's something for R28 at the earliest.
