It would be really helpful if the console width was not limited to, feels like, 64 characters but more. What's even worse, when I type too much into the prompt, the console does not get taller but the second line is rendered on top of the first one. If none of this is possible, please consider shortening the default bash prompt so that not 50% of the line are filled up with the prompt. Experienced with a Ubuntu 20 VM. Thanks! :-)

Not sure if this is really a feature request or if it counts as a bug:
if a machine is being shut down the serial console stops working once I click "Stop" for the VM in the portal(or via API). It should work until the VM is actually powered off which may take upto several minutes if the VM is actually hanging and can't be shut down quickly.

Hi @absrivas12 , is your Serial Console working now? There was an outage a few weeks ago that might have been impacting you. If it's still not working, please file a support ticket: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/support/create-ticket/.

i had switched to specifying storage account instead of managed storage account option to work around the problem

It would be very beneficial to be able to print what is on the serial console. This would greatly help when obtaining logs for troubleshooting both with and without the vendors. I would recommend the number of lines to copy as their has to be a method for bounding what is printed.

this already exists, https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/boot-diagnostics -- serial log there, use managed storage account if you want the easiest experience. You can download the whole serial console output as a txt file as well

Fixed with vm restart and then boot diagnostics disable and re-enable

I would appreciate if you guys had a look at #105 (comment) :)

I have two of follow ups:

1. Change the logrotation behaviour, either keep multiple files of xMB/xGB -- or follow systemd and always keep the last xMB/xGB. As opposed to the way it currently is: have a single file, wait until it gets 1GB then delete everything and start fresh
2. I would like to download only the last 1-2-3 days of logs or last 1-2-10-20MB of logs instead of a whole GB (worst case)
