Changes

• wt x-save was accidentally turned off in the Preview build, and has been turned on (Add Feature_SaveSnippet to preview builds #17881)
• The Command Prompt "quick fix" feature was accidentally turned off in the Preview build, and has been turned on (Add Feature_QuickFix to preview builds #17888)
• RIS (ESC c) will now return the color scheme to your preferred default if the application has modified it (Add support for resetting the color scheme with RIS #17879) (thanks @j4james!)
• Alt+Keypad Plus is no longer eaten unless EnableHexNumpad is enabled in the registry (Check EnableHexNumpad before enabling it #17954)
• The tab switcher will now display each tab's color, if one is set, in addition to the other information about the tab (Add tab color indicator for tab switch menu (CTRL+Tab) #17820) (thanks @nukoseer!)
• You can now configure the default input scope for the IME with an option on the Startup page or the JSON key defaultInputScope (enum default (default), alphanumericHalfWidth); this should allow you to force Terminal to accept English input even if you usually type in a different language (Add input scope startup setting #17953)

Bug Fixes

• The "Clear Buffer" command now clears the buffer again. Novel! (Fix clear buffer command #17884)
• In cmd and python (and other users of console line input), choosing a command from history will no longer insert it back into history a second time (Dedup command history by default #17852)
• The experimental.colorSelection actions will once again work (after we broke them in the action refactoring) (Add action IDs to the color selection commands #17821)
• Some localizations have been updated for correctness (Localization Updates - main - 09/26/2024 19:14:21 #17958)
• Terminal has gotten much better about transferring focus to windows spawned by (and under, or above) hosted console applications (Fix two ConPTY HWND focus issues #17828)
• We will try much harder to keep your scroll position from changing when you have the search box open but are not looking at the results (Stop scrolling on output when search is open #17885) (Add support for regex search to conhost and Terminal #17316)

Accessibility

• The settings UI now responds more correctly to the systemwide text scaling setting (Fix text scaling issues in settings UI #17910)
• We've fixed the color contrast of the "reset" button in the settings page (Improve color contrast of reset button in SUI #17912)

Terminal Emulation and Console Compatibility

• VT reports generated in response to application requests will no longer be issued without a preceding ESC character to non-ENABLE_VIRTUAL_TERMINAL_INPUT applications (Avoid dropping Esc characters from VT responses #17833)
• VT reports expected to be received via DCS will likewise no longer be corrupted (Pass through DCS responses when VT input mode is disabled #17845) (thanks @j4james!)
• ScrollConsoleScreenBuffer now works more reliably (and correctly) with the new translation layer (Fix ScrollRect to DECCRA translation #17849)
• An empty OSC 2 title sequence will now reset the title (Make sure a blank title string resets the title #17802) (thanks @j4james!)
• Closing the active console screen buffer (set with SetConsoleActiveScreenBuffer) will now restore the contents of the prior screen buffer (Restore contents when a screen info is closed #17853)
• Unicode spacing marks (indicated in the UCD with gc=Mc) are now properly allocated cells (Give spacing marks space #17826)

Reliability

• Closing split panes should crash roughly 50% less often (Fix a crash on pane close #17886)
• Entering a control character near the end of the line in line editing mode will no longer cause a layout deadlock (Fix a cooked read deadlock #17905)
• Resizing the window while some Sixels are displayed should no longer lead to a crash (Fix a sixel crash when the buffer is reflowed #17951) (thanks @j4james!)
• The experience of typing in and searching for multiple fonts has been (questionably?) improved (Stop updating AutoSuggestBox on selection #17961)
• We should no longer crash while quitting (Fix crash in AppHost::_QuitRequested #17848)
