How does wingetbot autoupdater work?

For a while, I see wingetbot automatically updates the manifest of that package when a new version releases, how does the wingetbot detect these? Does it keep downloading the installer url for hash mismatch? And why does it seems like only updates some packages? What's the condition of the package to be eligible for autoupdate by wingetbot? Just curious.

This happens when a package has a Vanity URL - effectively a URL that always points to the latest version. wingetbot is just checking for a hash mismatch, when this happens, Wingetbot will submit an update.
