socket bind to an ipv4 address throws error 'invalid argument'
I have been working on a tcl script that performs autoprovisioning of catalyst 3750 switches. Opening client sockets to IPv4 addresses fail with an "invalid argument" error.

Do you refer to an issue in the TCLTools project, or you are asking for an advice for your own script?

What I can see from a quick search in Google, this error might be related to the CSCto75838 bug:

I would suggest to test addresses like ::ffff:127.0.0.1, and if it works, to make such a workaround.

I refer to an issue in the TCLTools project.
When I run the tclproxy by -L , it shows : couldn`t open socket: invalid argument.
In addition,I tested opening socket by tclsh：

cisco(tcl)#socket 127.0.0.1 23
couldn`t open socket: invalid argument.

It is indeed a bug of cisco. Addresses like ::ffff:127.0.0.1 do not work.
