Preview window confusing/ Suggestion. #133

Hi. This a great app and I'm running it on the PiZero2W and it works fast enough for me.
I'm considering using this to monitor clouds at night while astro-imaging with other equipment.
I don't understand the link between the preview window and the Exposure time.
So I click off the AEC-AGC switch.
I increase the exposure time to 4 secs and I get a nearly white screen implying that the exposure is now much longer than default, but if I place my hand in front of the camera I can see my finger move in "real time" implying that it's not a 4secs exposure.
I now click on the AEC-AGC switch and the image now returns to a normal exposure.
So am I seeing a video in the preview screen "slightly" related to the exposure time and it it possible to preview the effect the exposure time by updating the iamge with the manual settings?
Suggestion: allow user to change between "real time" video and images taken with manual settings.
Suggestion: allow user to type in number because the slider does not allow fine resolution.
