Homepage plot drop downs don't respect dark mode in firefox

in windows, set to darkmode, the homepage respects darkmode except for the plot dropdowns, which render black on black

This actually worked ok in my firefox, the person experiencing this mentioned they were using Windows 11 with system darkmode on, and that might be the source of the problem.
