Information on transferring discussions

When transferring existing repositories to a new organization, discussions will transfer in most cases. For all repositories being transferred to the NMFS OST organization, discussions will transfer as long as they are hosted at a repository level not an organization level.

Here's some more information and caveats for transferring discussions;

If the repository being transferred hosts organization-level discussions:

• The discussions will transfer and remain at the organization-level if the transferred repository is selected to host organization discussions.
• If the target organization already has discussions enabled, these discussions will convert to repository-level discussions instead.

If the repository being transferred contains repository-level discussions:

• The discussions will transfer and remain repository-level if another repository is already configured to host organization discussions.
• If the target organization does not have discussions enabled, selecting the transferred repository as the new host will elevate its discussions to organization-level.
