Biography
Andie* is driven by her desire to help wondrous marine life and humans thrive together. Her family is from Hong Kong and New Orleans, Louisiana, so seafood has always been an important part of her culture. Andie works on integrating social science and population dynamics in support of stock assessments, as well as fisheries bycatch data analysis for the Assessment and Monitoring Division in NOAA Fisheries Office of Science and Technology. Previously, she was a Knauss Marine Policy Fellow in this same office, and earned her Ph. D. in Ecology from the Pennsylvania State University, and her B.S. in Marine Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles. In her free time, Andie enjoys exploring Southern California beaches, parks, and restaurants with her partner, Zach, and their small but sassy rescue dog, Biscuit.
*I go by Andie rather than Andrea.
