Scientific Software Support for Stock Synthesis for ECS Federal in support of ST4 National Stock Assessment Program

Biography

Elizabeth Perl is a Scientific Software Support specialist where she manages and maintains the Stock Synthesis (SS3) fisheries stock assessment model repositories and documentation. Her expertise includes scientific software support, data analysis (R), and database and code management and she has a background in marine biology, ecology, and fisheries modeling. She holds a Master of Science in Marine Biology from the University of Charleston where she studied deep-sea coral ecology. When she is not working, Elizabeth enjoys most outdoor activities and absolutely loves sailing and skiing. However, you will mostly find her at home working on house projects.

Welcome 👋 the README describes the onboarding process for new members of the National Stock Assessment Program (NSAP). Below are the checklist items that will drive the onboarding process.

Onboarding Task Checklist

First Day

• Schedule first-day welcome meeting to review the onboarding process to the NSAP.

First Week

• Provide access to NSAP or higher-level email distribution lists.

• ST4 email distribution list (Not typically used, as the assessment branch listserv is kept more up to date)

• Write a short bio and send it to Assessment Branch Director so it can be included in a welcome email to members of OST and add your bio to the NSAP bios document .
• Contact IT and cc the service desk to set up your workstation.

• Share your Google calendar (instructions here) with those that need to know your schedule because everyone by default sees you as busy instead of getting appointment details.
