Describe the session

This session will focus on reorganizing and improving the Learn section of Node.js website. We will run a card-sort activity (physical and/or digital) where article titles and short summaries are represented as “cards.”

Participants will:

  1. Sort existing Learn articles into categories that make sense to them.
  2. Identify unclear, overlapping, or misplaced articles.
  3. Suggest new categories or pathways (e.g., Beginner → Intermediate → Advanced, or Concepts → APIs → Best Practices).
  4. Flag missing topics or pain points in the current flow.
  5. If time allows, group findings into a draft information architecture proposal for the Learn section.

Additional context (optional)

The event is Hybrid-friendly:
Remote participants can sort prepared digital cards (via Miro, MURAL, or a similar tool such as this example).

We’ll break out into small groups to generate the maximum number of variants.
This further supports:

  • Online breakout rooms
  • In-person groups

Output could be captured and shared as:

  • Photos/screenshots
  • Structured notes for async review
