Confusion over answer in example - 2**3 + (5//2)

Hi there - I am unsure of why the answer to this example is 9. I read it as 2 to the 3rd (8) + 5 divided by 2 returning the lower integer value (2).
The solution seemed to be 10. I don't understand why the answer is 9. Any explanation is appreciated.

2**3=8, 5//2=2, and 8+2=10....
