HighCharts or D3 support !

I would love to add support of HighCharts/HighStock or D3 so that the user can choose between standard graphite PNG or HighCharts or D3.
Not sure how to do this, but it seems way more complicated that simply generate an URL as GraphiteGraph does.

Now that graphite data and leonardo properties can be retrieved with "/api/categorydashboard/" , maybe we can do the following :

• if config.graph_format == rickshaw :
  • call leonardo api to get properties and Graphite URL
  • call graphite URL to get datapoints
  • translate datapoints into rickshaw format
  • translate properties to rickshaw instructions (width, height, and so on)
  • display rickshaw graph instead of Graphite's PNG.

Is that realistic ?

I looked at what would be involved to integrate Graphite's JSON output to Rickshaw. The data format sent by Graphite will have to be adapted to make it compatible with Rickshaw's graph data format. I came across "timeserieswidget"[1] which may suite our needs for this issue.
