Puppet Server 8 is not available for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

The official Puppet Labs repository [1] does not currently provide Puppet Server 8 packages for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.

Describe the Solution You Would Like

Similar to Ubuntu 22.04 LTS [2], we would like Puppet Server 8 packages to be available for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS as well.

Describe Alternatives You've Considered

Used a legacy repository [3] to install Puppet Server 8 on Ubuntu 24.04, but we are unsure whether this approach is advisable for a production environment

Perforce doesn't do open source work anymore. The community now builds their own packages and continues the open source work:https://voxpupuli.org/openvox/. Packages are at https://apt.voxpupuli.org/. The Perforce announcement : https://www.puppet.com/blog/open-source-puppet-updates-2025

However, Puppet Server 8.4 can be installed on Ubuntu 24.04 using repository [3]. Therefore, I’m wondering why the same release is not pinned or made available under the puppet8 package?
