Error opening select folder dialog on MacOS

After loading a PDB file (4en5) and selecting NArama from plugin, should get Finder window to select output folder. Instead get error message. No folder select dialog opens. Occurs under Mac 10.13 and 10.14

The issue may be related to matplotlib on Mac OS.

Try changing lines 50 and 51 of https://github.com/pylelab/AMIGOSIII/blob/master/__init__.py from

import matplotlib
import matplotlib.pyplot as plt

to

import matplotlib
if sys.platform=="darwin":
    matplotlib.use("TkAgg")
import matplotlib.pyplot as plt

This was suggested for a similar issue (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/32019556/matplotlib-crashing-tkinter-application/34109240#34109240) and worked on Mac 11.6 (matplotlib version 3.0.1, python version 3.9.7). Alternatively, you could try changing lines 50 and 51 to the following, which also worked on Mac 11.6:

import matplotlib
if sys.platform=="darwin":
    matplotlib.use("Qt5Agg")
import matplotlib.pyplot as plt

I am unable to change the backend no matter how I try to do it - with env var, setting in matplotlibrc, directly in pymol.
Doing it directly gives:

Can you also try

matplotlib.use("Qt5Agg")

instead of

 matplotlib.use("TkAgg")
