Well, OpenQASM is text based and with it is a bit too big for large circuits. For example if you want to process binary data on quantum computer you will need initialization script which will encode your data in qubits state. With grow of data size - size of this script grows exponentioally giving one of bottlenecks. Using QBIN instead makes import much more efficient
