Development Environment

This thread collects setup instructions, tips, and solutions to common development environment issues.

Prerequisites

• Git — version control
• Node.js 18+ — commit validation tooling (commitlint, husky)
• .NET 9 SDK — backend and build/monitor server development
• Docker & Docker Compose — local infrastructure stack
• PowerShell (Windows) or Bash (Linux/macOS) — setup scripts

Quick Start

git clone https://github.com/qubernetic-org/FlowForge.git
cd FlowForge

# Linux/macOS
./scripts/setup-dev.sh

# Windows PowerShell
.\scripts\setup-dev.ps1

The setup script configures:

• Git commit message template
• commitlint + husky hooks
• Conventional Commits validation

Running the Stack

docker compose up -d

This starts: Traefik (reverse proxy), PostgreSQL, MQTT broker (Mosquitto), docker-socket-proxy, frontend, and backend.
