Update Testing Framework

Testing software Nose is [deprecated](https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/issues/9886) and is [not maintained anymore](https://nose.readthedocs.io/en/latest/). PyNose has been used as a drop-in replacement for now. It should be replaced with either Nose2 or PyTest which appears to be the best solution. Research and evaluation for the best testing framework needs to be done.
