[BUG] Volume Control loses control of applications when an application is closed and restarted #199

@Sylok-theDefiled

Description

@Sylok-theDefiled

Version Number

6.6.3, 6.6.0

File

Installer (VolumeControl-Installer.exe)

Windows Version

Windows 10 Pro, Version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.5371)

Actual Behaviour

Closing a program Volume Control is controlling the volume for (IE, Firefox, with YouTube open) and restarting said program causes Volume Control to no longer control the volume of that program. This can be seen by the green volume bar not increasing/decreasing when audio plays, and by the program audio not changing when using the volume up/down and mute keys.

I've tested this on both 6.6.3 and 6.6.0, though the log is for 6.6.0. 6.6.3 will not start on my PC for some reason.

Expected Behaviour

I expected Volume Controller to pick the program's audio control back up as soon as the program restarted.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Run a program, and then run Volume Control.
  2. Close the program, then reopen it.
  3. Volume Control no longer controls the audio of the program.

Temporary Fix:

  1. Repeat steps above to reproduce issue.
  2. Close Volume Control and restart it.
  3. Volume Control now controls the audio of the program that was closed previously.
