Regression in v0.5.8: Subdomain filtering broken

Hi, v0.5.8 has broken subdomain filtering in Reverse Mode. I can no longer allow notebooklm.google.com while blocking google.com—a setup that worked perfectly in v0.5.7.

Issue: Erratic filtering/ignoring subdomain rules.

Question 1: Why was v0.5.7 removed from the Releases page?

Question 2: Is this a known regression in v0.5.8?

Environment: Win10 / Chrome. Thanks for the great extension!

PS: I rely on this for focused studying.

1. Is there an issue with Block Site 0.5.7's source code? (see below) I'm enforcing it via Chrome registry using this ID and want to keep a source code backup. This version runs perfect for me so i wanna stay there. I've already copied it from another Chrome instance—is this acceptable under the FOSS license?

2. May be could you please skip this 0.5.8 issue for now? As my setup is complex (Win10 + Sandboxie plus + private Block Site fork (0.5.7, renamed, hardcoded some rubbish websites, enforced in registry) + 0.5.7/8. 0.5.8 doesn't work with it as stated. I'll better test with portable Chrome or a simpler config first to see if I can reproduce the issue.

Same issue with BlockSite 0.5.8 and Brave 1.86.148 (Chromium 144.0.7559.133) - whitelisting doesn't work any longer.
BlockSite 0.5.7 in Chromium 139.0.7258.155 works fine.
Same JSON-based settings are used in both cases.
The scenario:

1. Install Brave.
2. Install the extension (latest version - 0.5.8).
3. Import block-site-preferences-#161.json
4. Try to open https://mail.google.com - it is blocked (though is present in the white list); other google sites seem to work fine (OK); google.com can also be opened (though it should be blocked!)
5. Remove the extension.
6. Install version 0.5.7 - BlockSite-0.5.7_0.zip
7. Import same settings => google.com is blocked (OK), mail.google.com works (OK)

as i grabbed the 0.5.7 from my previous chrome install and unzip it to obtain the source code.
i am wonder how you get your 0.5.7 -- in this github, there is no 0.5.7!

i wish to have a more official way of obtaining it, for me, it's the last known good version. thanks

I was able to reproduce the issue in a clean virtual Window 10 64-bit 21H2 (OS Build 19044.5737) with freshly installed Brave 32-bit 1.86.148 and Block Site 0.5.8.
Reinstalling Brave without cleaning UserData (I use BraveBrowserStandaloneSetup32.exe from v1.87.190) doesn't solve the problem: wrong subdomains are blocked - specifically you can't login to Google (accounts.google.com is blocked at 2-nd step, though it shouldn't).
I've also tried Brave 1.87.190 64-bit (according to #161 (comment) it works fine), but the issue still happens.

I've packed the extension from another instance of Chromium (on the same PC), which for some reason hadn't auto-updated it.
I guess, the version 0.5.7 originally came from Chrome Web Store.
