If you've been using npx skills, manually copying skill files, or any other approach to manage AI CLI skills — welcome! Here's how to switch to skillshare.

Why switch?

Migrate in 3 commands

# 1. Initialize — detects your AI CLIs automatically
skillshare init

# 2. Import existing skills from all your AI tools
skillshare collect --all

# 3. Sync — creates symlinks from source to all targets
skillshare sync

That's it. Your existing skills are preserved and now managed from one place.

What about tracked/team repos?

If you had skills installed from a GitHub org:

skillshare install github.com/your-org/team-skills --track
skillshare sync

The --track flag preserves .git history, so future updates are just:

skillshare update _team-skills
skillshare sync
