Usage reports

Could we implement some sort of system to log and track usage over time? I think it would be really interesting to track the number of requests, how many each day, each hour, etc. And maybe it would be cool if we could see which languages are most popular? Some sort of logger needs to be attached to the database so we can start recording this information.
