Missing template home/index.erb

After I installed, I got an error because:
Processing HomeController#index (for 98.248.151.145 at 2009-11-23 13:23:30) [GET]
ActionView::MissingTemplate (Missing template home/index.erb in view path app/views)

Note: I haven't dug into the code to see why the index page wasn't created.

After commit e21b67e on 11/24/09, this issue is still unresolved. Running the app after a fresh installation produces the error:
Processing HomeController#index (for 127.0.0.1 at 2009-11-24 08:10:03) [GET]

We'll have to dig further, as its working OK for me.

Not sure why its looking for index.erb, and not the index.html.haml? Did the haml gem install ok? ($ gem list)

Looking at the code, I don't see where index.html.haml is created. The file is not generated when I run the template. How is it created?

It happens in the main template, before vendoring, & only if you selected the compass template. It runs a script to convert all .erb to .haml. (So if you generate erb's e.g. with the rspec_scaffold option), it haml-izes them for you automatically. Admittedly it would be easier if rspec supported haml.

Ok, so index.erb will be converted to index.html.haml. How about index.erb? Is it created by the template? Should it be created in app_layouts.rb? Or is it an artifact of another process? Just trying to understand why it's missing when I run the template.

Ok, to answer my own question, I see in templates/rspec.rb that
generate 'rspec_controller', 'home index'
creates the home/index.html.erb file.

It disappeared when erb_to_haml ran because I had an outdated version of hpricot that was not compatible with OS X Snow Leopard. Updated the hpricot gem and all works.
