Adding this feature into Gutenberg Core #27

It would be great to get this feature into Gutenberg Core. It is being worked on here but it seems the PR has been abounded: WordPress/gutenberg#15426 It would be great if someone could pick it up again.
That means Gutenberg Core could have one version and if others need then they can instead use Guidepost.
