I checked it again and seems fine to me. Maybe I am not getting your requirement.
From what I see from your image, it seems you need an option with all its child options selected. The below code did just that:

ngOnInit() {
// insert values to childOptions of that particular option
    this.options[1].value.childOptions.forEach(c => {
// apply logic here to selectively push
		this.options[1].value.selectedChildOptions.push(c.value);
	});
	
// if you have inserted all child options, you also need to insert parent in this.selectedOptions too, else not
	this.selectedOptions = [this.options[1].value];
  }

Can you once try putting above code in the original repo and see if its working. It surely does for me. If you still face the same, please try to create a minimal codepen/jsfiddle to demonstrate and I will be happy to help.
