Selecting (double-clicking) word or words to edit produces random changes to text #4059

Describe the bug
The normal actions I use for copy and pasting a word, or group of words, is to double-click the text to select, and then click Comand + C to copy and Command + V to paste.

However, since recently upgrading my Macbook and MacOS to Tahoe, and applying the most recent Standard Notes update (I was previously using a much older version that worked on my older Mac), now simply double clicking on a word, and waiting a couple of seconds causes what appears to be either text from the clipboard or random text from the paragraph to be pasted onto the end of the sentence, without any subsequent action being required.

Various strange things occur when any text is selected with previous random word or words suddenly replacing some or all of the text after a second or two. This occurs about 80% of the time when selecting a word or group of words.

There are other strange issues along the same lines...

• I cannot copy and paste directly from Standard Notes to this message, whereas I am able to copy and paste from Standard Notes to Pages, and then from Pages to this message. I am also able to copy this entire text over to Standard Notes.

• I just attempted to enter * in the middle of a word and instead it deleted the previous letter and also changed the following symbol to italic. Could this get more bizarre.

I've never known Standard Notes to be glitching like this, and I have been using it for years. These issues make writing and particularly editing practically unworkable. This problem only seems to occur within Standard Notes and no other application such as Pages, in emails, or in an online message such as this.

  • OS: MacOS Tahoe 26.2
  • Standard Notes app
  • Version 3.201.3 (1190)
  • Super notes type
