DoomRL has a handful of damage types--bullet, shotgun, fire, plasma... all with explicitly defined properties. I have found them workable, but somewhat limiting, and wish to move the whole thing over to the Lua side so that they can be expanded on with impunity.

This will heavily affect armor resistances and result in lots of little changes all throughout codes and mods. That's probably why it was never done.
