Anyone uses Svelte and Bun without problems?

So, I'm learning Svelte and Sveltekit, and I was wondering if anyone has success using it with bun as, svelte-adapter-bun seems to be abandoned and hasn't been updated for 2 years.

I'm at the point where I'm learning Postgres and if bun doesn't work, I should know to not invest in their SQL API and use a JP library, until (and if) a proper adapter fully merges.

I've been using bun without problems 🤔 I think the whole point of their backend stuff is to maintain node compatibility. Even bunx sv create will give the option the pick bun!

Yeah, that's their point, keep compatibility with Node. The thing is, how it applies in practice and, especially, with Svelte.

What worries me is that, in the docs for svelte specify using the svelte-adapter-bun and this hasn't been updated for years and I wonder if it properly works with the latest Sveltekit version.

It's important beacause, I'm planning to use them for commercial usage and I can't risk when we're talking about clients. Now, with Svelte, it's fine because I can change to nodejs if bun doesn't work but, their PostgreSQL API is specific to bun so, if I'm to switch to node, I should better not learn it to begin with and use the pg package.

It's a very good question. Looking at the issues in the svelte-adapter-bun repo I found a discussion which illuminates the considerations here: gornostay25/svelte-adapter-bun#74

Yeah, I saw the discussion too and that's what worries me and why I made this post. I wish there would be an official adapter from the Bun team, given the fact of how popular Svelte is.

I have good news! For anyone seeing this, svelte-adapter-bun just released version 1.0 which is a full rewrite, in TS this time!
