Hi! I’m very happy that you find Proxsave useful! I need to clarify the usefulness of the rollback feature: during a network configuration restore, it can happen that an “incorrect” or “tricky” restore isolates the server, preventing you from controlling it. This could potentially cause “serious” issues or ones that are difficult to resolve. Rollback is only responsible for restoring the network part, not the other components. During the restore process, you will be asked to type COMMIT to confirm that everything is OK. If you don’t type it, rollback will act assuming you no longer have control and will restore the network. You can bypass this check by not applying the network parameters immediately. This will require a reboot to apply those parameters. Of course, it’s recommended to verify that the parameters are correct before rebooting, otherwise you’ll be locked out. Does this answer your question? P.S. With every Proxsave update, various bugs are fixed—even if not visible—so I always recommend updating to the latest release. |

Hi,
first of all, thanks for this great project – ProxSave has been very helpful so far.
Since the latest release (from yesterday), the restore process seems to perform additional checks, for example validating network settings. If one of these checks fails, an automatic rollback is triggered.
In my use case, I often restore backups to new Proxmox servers that are offline. In this scenario, the network configuration is expected to be incomplete or different, so these checks fail by design. Because of the automatic rollback, the restore cannot complete, and I still have to configure the network settings manually afterward.
In previous versions, I was able to decide myself whether I wanted to perform a rollback or not, which worked much better for my workflow.
My questions:
Is it possible to install or pin a specific older version of ProxSave?
Alternatively, is there a way to disable these restore checks or the automatic rollback behavior?
Thanks in advance for your help and for maintaining this project!
