Discussion on the Writing Policy for jlreq-d

Document: Writing Policy

The following points were agreed upon regarding the writing of jlreq-d:

• Describe digital typesetting without contrasting it with JLReq; useful background information should be included as background knowledge.
• Create a complete description that can be understood solely by reading jlreq-d, not just the differences from JLReq.
• Differences from JLReq will be explained in a dedicated section compiled in one place.
• Terms used in CSS/OpenType will be prioritized over traditional Japanese printing/typesetting terms. This will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• The discussion process is a valuable record. These will not be part of the jlreq-d document but will be preserved as documents within GitHub.

Review of Chapter 3 of jlreq-d

Rewrite according to the above policy. Additionally, Kida will propose the definition of full-width characters.

Yamamoto-san explained the types of kana glyphs in OpenType, which include five types: default, horizontal-specific, vertical-specific, horizontal-specific proportional, and vertical-specific proportional.

jlreq-dの書き方の方針の議論

文書: 書き方の方針

jlreq-dの書き方について下記の点について合意した。

• デジタルの組版をJLReqなどと対比せずに記述し、有用な背景は背景知識として添える
• JLReqからの差分ではなく、jlreq-dだけ読めば良い完全な記述にする
• JLReqとの差の説明は、そのための章を作って一箇所に集める
• CSS / OpenType などで使われている用語を日本語印刷・組版用語に優先する。個々のケースで検討する
• 議論の過程は貴重な記録である。これらはjlreq-d文書の一部にはならないが、 github内の文書として残す

詳細は上記文書を参照のこと。

jlreq-d第3章のレビュー

上の方針に従って書き直す。また、全角の定義の部分は木田が提案する。

山本さんから、OpenType中の仮名グリフの種類の説明があった。デフォルト、横専用、縦専用、横専用プロポーションある、縦専用プロポーショナル、の五種類。
