Menubar doesn't display on fullscreen apps when the BetterDisplay Settings window is open on a desktop

Scenario: I'm using an app in fullscreen mode and I click on the BetterDisplay menubar extension.

Expected: The menubar menu displays

If the BetterDisplay app is running (aka the windowed application is visible on a desktop) the menubar will NOT display.
If the BetterDisplay app is not running the menubar WILL display.

Yes, when the Settings window is open, the app menu will show on the space where the Settings window is located instead of on the space with the full screen app. It is somewhat annoying but a fix might not be possible. Will investigate the issue though.

The only reliable way to fix this is to simply close the Settings window when it is not on the active space when the menu is opening. Sadly macOS tends to act somewhat unpredictably when a single app has stuff open on separate spaces and full screen + non full screen apps tend to not mix very well to begin with. An other solution would be to have the Settings menu reside on all Spaces, but that would be super annoying.

I'd say closing the settings window might be the best of the options then. Gut says that and the principle is that the newest action should succeed at the cost of the older action. Gut says that the old action (leaving the settings window open) was possibly just laziness.

Either way there's the possibility of surprise.

I agree. This is now included in the latest internal pre-release, you can test it by enabling it under Settings > Application > Updates.
